Designation Probationary Officers holds (PO) in banks. A PO holds the designation of an Assistant Manager (AM) on Probation.
He is in Junior Management Grade-1 (JMG-Scale 1) Officer thus he is often called as Scale 1 Officer or Asst. Manager.
Eligibilty criteria for bank po exam is as follows
Age limit - 20 - 28 years ( + 5 years for SC/ST, + 3 years for OBC, + 10 years for DISABLED)
Education - Should have completed graduation ( in any subject )
Language - Proficiency in the official language (write & read) of the state for which you are applying is required.
Computer Knowledge - Must have studied computer science in high school or have diploma in computer from an institute
Both P.O. and clerical recruitments comprise at least two stages of exams, viz. a written test, and an interview.
The Written test normally comprises an objective type test and a descriptive test (for PO exams like SBI, NICL, RBI etc.).
There is no descriptive test for clerical exams.
The interview is normally a personal interview or sometimes, a combination of group discussion and personal interview.
The interview level is of 100 marks.
The marking weightage of both Written Exam Round : Interview Round is 80:20.
IBPS interviews are held in Local Head Offices.
Interview Round is taken by 4 dignitaries including a woman.
Candidates can apply online from July to August every year.
Date of exam
The exams are held generally in the month of October.
