Designation Probationary Officers holds (PO) in banks. A PO holds the designation of an Assistant Manager (AM) on Probation. He is in Junior Management Grade-1 (JMG-Scale 1) Officer thus he is often called as Scale 1 Officer or Asst. Manager.

Eligibility

Eligibilty criteria for bank po exam is as follows
Age limit - 20 - 28 years ( + 5 years for SC/ST, + 3 years for OBC, + 10 years for DISABLED)
Education - Should have completed graduation ( in any subject )
Language - Proficiency in the official language (write & read) of the state for which you are applying is required.
Computer Knowledge - Must have studied computer science in high school or have diploma in computer from an institute

Levels in Bank PO exam

Both P.O. and clerical recruitments comprise at least two stages of exams, viz. a written test, and an interview.
The Written test normally comprises an objective type test and a descriptive test (for PO exams like SBI, NICL, RBI etc.).
There is no descriptive test for clerical exams.
The interview is normally a personal interview or sometimes, a combination of group discussion and personal interview.

Marking Scheme - Mains Exam - Final Round

The interview level is of 100 marks.
The marking weightage of both Written Exam Round : Interview Round is 80:20.
IBPS interviews are held in Local Head Offices.
Interview Round is taken by 4 dignitaries including a woman.
